The term Hindu Ghosi (or Ghoshi घोषी, Ghosee घोसी, Ghosi Thakur घोसी ठाकुर, Ghosi Yadav घोसी यादव) refers to a community of the Hindu Ahir caste, which has considerable resemblance to Hindu Rajputs. Ghosi is A clan (Gotra) among Hindu Gurjars also. In and around Delhi, The term ''ghosi'' historically referred to milksellers both Muslim and Hindu However,In Central India nearly all Ghosi are Hindu, who call themselves Ghosi Thakur and claim to be Rajput.〔 Since the Term ''Ghosi'' is common to Hindu and Muslim both, It often leads to definitive confusions, The Allahabad High Court in a case (Ind Cas 424 ) on the matter in 1918, passed a decision that When the term ''Ghosi'' is applied to Hindus, they are in fact members of an agricultural tribe namely the ''Ghosi'' sub division of the Hindu Ahir Caste.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Kalka Prasad vs Raj Rani And Ors. on 11 December, 1918 )〕 The social customs of Hindu Ghosi community are observed to be similar to those of Hindu Rajputs.〔 In the few Western districts of Uttar Pradesh, the Ghosi Ahirs have been better than others, both in number and influence and hence have attracted the attention of the present political parties. Politicians often plan and expect a split among the different Ahir groups, particularly the Ghosi and Kamariya groups.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=UP Polls: Congress trying to get caste calculus right; eyeing Kurmi and Muslim votes - Economic Times )〕 ==Etymology== The word Ghosi is derived from the Sanskrit term ''Ghosh'' or ''Ghush'', which etymologically mean ''to shout''〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=The Tribes and Castes of the Central Provinces of India, Volume III of IV )〕 or may refer to a ''cattle pen'', or literally "the settlements of Abhiras". The term 'Abhira' means cowherd, milkman or 'Ghosa' and the modern name 'Ahir is its Prakrit form. The Term ''Ghosi'' is common to Hindu and Muslim both. Anciently called Gwalas, the Ahirs were called Ghosi after their conversion to Islam, but irrespective of caste or religion, any cowman is also called ''ghosi''. In general, any Mohammadan who became a cowman by trade was called Ghosi and later the name was applied to any Ahir or Gwala, so that we now find that the Hindu Ahir as well as their Mohammadan competitor commonly called Ghosi.〔 Ancient Indian History has mentioned of an Abhira Ghosha Pradyot dynasty established by Haihaya Vetala Talajangha Vitihotras. Indian Historian, J.N.S, Yadav confirms a definite relation between the trems "Ghosha (Ghosi)" and "Abhira (Ahirs)", the people who reared cows in pastoral age and adopted agriculture later on.〔The term Abhira, Gopa, Gopala, Gwala,Ghosa, Ghosi, Gvalia,Gvali, etc. are the professional appellations from those Yadavas who tended cows in pastoral age and adopted agriculture later on.〕 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Hindu Ghosi」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
